Some of our notes on the personal names and family names that occur in the Orbis Fūrum fantasy setting.

The first section will cover given names, the second section surnames and the third section will be a behind the scenes, providing more background context to how the names (or at least some of the names) for the setting were developed over the years.

Among the human cultures of my Orbis Furum setting, there are plenty of languages that have died out, become rarer than they had been in the past, or are now only reserved for niche purposes or special purposes (religious languages, languages of learning, etc.).

There are also plenty of unique languages of the beastpeoples that, though mostly intelligible to humans and learnable by humans, are very distinct from any of the human languages. We will cover this in another overview, somewhat later. First, we will focus on the human languages.

 

Jazyky: Staršie, mŕtve, dnes už vzácne jazyky a tajné jazyky ľudských kultúr kontinentu Aporue

Jazykové reálie.

Medzi ľudskými kultúrami v Orbis Furum sa nájde veľa jazykov, ktoré vymreli, stali sa zriedkavejšími než v minulosti, alebo sú dnes vyhradené iba pre využitie v úzkych, konkrétnych nikách alebo využitie na rôzne špeciálne účely (náboženské a liturgické jazyky, jazyky učenosti a vzdelávania, atď.).

Jestvuje tiež veľa jazykov unikátnych pre zveroľudí, i keď tie sú spravidla nezrozumiteľné ľuďom. Ľudia sa ich však dokážu naučiť, hoci sú výrazne odlišné od ktoréhokoľvek z ľudských jazykov. Dané jazyky si rozoberieme v inom článku-prehľade, niekedy neskôr. Najprv, v tomto článku, sa zameriame na ľudské jazyky.
